Product Description
TIMO256 uncooled IR imaging module, also known as the uncooled
thermal module, is one of the TIMO infrared camera module family
developed by Global Sensor Technology (GST). It includes an
exceptionally small size 256x192 / 12μm wafer level package (WLP)
infrared detector that covers long wavelength from 8 to 14 microns.
Thanks to the WLP technology, the TIMO256 thermal IR camera module
achieves super micro structure, ultra low cost expenditure while
offers greater sensitivity and superior image quality at an
affordable price, enabling the customer to choose the most suitable
type according to their own requirements.
Due to its fully optimized structure, TIMO256 thermal camera core
is popular and widely used in infrared thermal imaging applications
such as Thermography, Epidemic Prevention, Smart Hardware, AIoT
etc.

1. Difference between Thermal Image & Visual Image about Lens
The main difference of the lens is that thermal imaging lens must
be made of special materials. The main reason is that infrared heat
radiation cannot pass through glass (silicon), so special lenses
made of special germanium, chromium and other metal materials are
used. This also causes the price of thermal imaging lens to be a
bit higher than that of the optical lens, which also increases the
price of the whole device.
2. Difference between Thermal Image & Visual Image about Imaging
Principle
Their imaging principles are basically the same. Imaging devices
image light waves within a certain wavelength range. In nature, the
wavelength range of visible light is from 0.39μm to 0.78μm, while
the wavelength range of infrared thermal radiation is from 0.75μm
to 1000μm. As long as target temperature is higher than absolute
zero -273 ℃, there will be infrared radiation.
